Keppel Data Centres Holding Pte Ltd (Keppel DC), has today announced a collaboration with AsiaPac Technology Pte. Ltd. (AsiaPac, a wholly owned subsidiary of M1 Limited), which will offer Keppel DC’s clients access to more seamless rollout and implementation of hybrid and multi-cloud services.
Driven by the urgency for greater digitalisation, organisations are deploying more hybrid and/or multi-cloud models so that they can effectively and rapidly support the changing needs of their businesses. Globally, the hybrid cloud market is valued at US$52 billion in 2020, and is expected to grow to US$145 billion in 2026, with Asia Pacific region expected to grow at the fastest rate.[1] However, as enterprises seek the cost and efficiency benefits of cloud, they may also find themselves faced with many daunting challenges when rolling out these cloud solutions because of technical complexities.
Leveraging AsiaPac’s strong track record, the collaboration between Keppel DC and AsiaPac will enable Keppel DC’s clients to easily transform or enhance their existing infrastructure to take full advantage of a secure hybrid multi-cloud framework from a variety of providers for greater agility and resiliency.
The partnership aims to provide regional enterprises and multinational corporations with a holistic and seamless digital transformation offering, combining world class data centre colocation and managed cloud services. Keppel DC plans to develop sustainable, carrier neutral and network dense edge data centres across Asia Pacific and Europe, launching initially in Southeast Asia.
In addition, the partnership will offer unparalleled intra-Asia interconnectivity across Keppel DC’s data centres, leveraging the Bifrost Cable System, a multiple fibre pair, high-capacity submarine cable system that Keppel is developing with other partners, connecting Singapore directly to North America, with other planned systems in the pipeline.
Under the ambit of the connectivity platform in Keppel’s Vision 2030, the partnership forms a longer-term strategy to enhance Keppel’s value proposition to clients, by packaging the data centre solution, stronger intra-Asia connectivity, and hybrid multi-cloud services, into an integrated, synergistic offering.
Mr Wong Wai Meng, CEO of Keppel Data Centres, said, “As a leading data centre developer and operator in the Asia Pacific, Keppel DC is no stranger to providing reliable and secure data centre solutions for its clients. By partnering AsiaPac, Keppel Data Centre is able to enhance its suite of services to offer clients turnkey cloud implementation solutions.”
Mr Andrew Cheng, Managing Director of AsiaPac, said, “As one of the leading enterprise solutions providers, AsiaPac will be complementing Keppel DC with the depth and breadth of our cloud consultancy and managed services. This collaboration will unlock opportunities arising from the synergies between Keppel DC and AsiaPac, as we stay at the forefront of delivering innovative next-generation infrastructure and services that are adaptable to today's fast-paced environment.”
