Included in DJSI World and Asia Pacific Indices 2024 for third consecutive year and has retained MSCI AAA ESG rating since 2020.
Keppel Ltd. (Keppel) has been included as a constituent of the Dow Jones Sustainability World Index (DJSI World) as well as the Dow Jones Sustainability Asia Pacific Index (DJSI Asia Pacific) 2024. This marks the third consecutive year that Keppel has been included in both indices.
Constituents to the DJSI were announced by S&P Global today. The indices comprise global and regional sustainability leaders, as identified by S&P Global through the annual Corporate Sustainability Assessment (CSA). Keppel ranked in the 99th percentile among industry peers for companies assessed this year.
The DJSI tracks the stock performance of the world’s most sustainable companies. The DJSI World Index represents the top 10% of the largest 2,500 companies in the S&P Global Broad Market Index, while the DJSI Asia Pacific Index represents the top 20% of the 600 largest Asia Pacific companies in the S&P Global Broad Market Index that lead the field in terms of sustainability. The indices serve as best-in-class benchmarks for investors who integrate sustainability considerations into their investment portfolios.
Separately, Keppel has also retained the highest AAA rating in the 2024 Morgan Stanley Capital International (MSCI) environmental, social and governance (ESG) ratings[1]. The MSCI ESG ratings measure companies' resilience to long-term ESG risks and rate companies on a scale of AAA to CCC, according to their exposure to industry-specific ESG risks and the ability to manage those risks relative to peers.
Keppel has held the triple-A rating since 2020, and is included in the MSCI All Country World Index (ACWI), which is MSCI’s flagship global equity index, as well as the MSCI World ESG Leaders Index.
Mr Ho Tong Yen, Chief Sustainability Officer of Keppel, said, “Keppel is honoured to continue to be included in the DJSI World and Asia Pacific indices and to retain the highest MSCI AAA ESG rating. These recognitions from global ESG benchmarks reaffirm Keppel’s commitment to both run our business sustainably and make sustainability our business, by providing solutions that contribute to global sustainable development and decarbonisation efforts. We will continue to work with our stakeholders to invest in and create a sustainable future together.”
In addition to the MSCI and DJSI, Keppel is also a component of the FTSE4Good Index maintained by the Financial Times Stock Exchange Group, the iEdge Singapore Low Carbon Indices by the Singapore Exchange, as well as the Euronext Vigeo World 120 by Euronext, the primary exchange in the Eurozone.
