Take a walk along Keppel Bay and you’ll see two iconic residences rising from the shoreline: The soaring, curved glass towers of Reflections at Keppel Bay, and the necklace of elegant homes that make up its sister, Corals at Keppel Bay.
If you’ve ever wondered who designed the architectural marvels, the answer is renowned Polish-American architect Daniel Libeskind.
Mr Libeskind has worked across the globe, and some of his creations are among the most recognisable buildings in the world. These include The Crystals at CityCenter Las Vegas, the Grand Canal Theatre in Dublin, the Run Run Shaw Creative Media Centre in Hong Kong and the Haeundae Udong Hyundai I'Park.
He shot to fame when he was appointed master planner of New York City World Trade Centre redevelopment, but his accolades come from all over the world. He won the award to design Jewish Museum Berlin and was the first Cultural Ambassador for Architecture appointed by the US government. Mr Libeskind was also the first architect to win the Hiroshima Art Prize, given to artists whose work promotes international understanding and peace.
Recently, the famed architect was in Singapore to speak to KeppelLandLive about his design of Corals at Keppel Bay, the residential developments by Keppel Land. He spoke on a range of topics, from his personal design philosophy, to the challenges he faced when designing the buildings in Singapore.
